Shortly after supper, Rhonda and I opted to forego any shoe wear and scurried down to the gulf, a quick two and a half minute jaunt across the street and through a small space in the dunes. I attempted to snap several pictures, but I never quite got the settings where I really wanted them to capture the intense beauty of what we were taking in, the combination of a full moon and rippling reflection in the waves of the gulf below, the brief flashes of heat lightning up ahead on the horizon, and the intermittent shooting stars that Rhonda saw and I missed. I'm far too tired to post more photos tonight, but I have plenty to come. Give me time to sleep and I promise to have more to reveal tomorrow.
